Orange slices with almonds recipe
Ingredients
1 small orange
1 large orange
1 table spoon butter
2 tea spoon sugar
1 ½ table spoon ground almonds
1 ½ tea spoon lemon juice
Method of preparation
Thinly peel the small orange, then cut the peel into thin strips. Cut the orange flesh in half, then squeeze to collect the juice. Set aside.
Peel the large orange, remove any pith from the orange flesh, and then thinly slice the orange. Melt the butter in a shallow pan and add the sugar and ground almonds.
Stir and cook gently until lightly caramelized. Add the orange slices and orange peel and cook the orange slices for 3 minutes on each side.
Stir the reserved orange juice and lemon juice into the hot pan, and serve immediately.
