Delicious bread rings

Delicious bread rings, heavily coated in sesame seeds, with a special flavor. Snack on these any time. They look good on a party buffet table.


Delicious bread rings recipe

Ingredients

1 cup of warm water
2 table spoon full-cream milk powder
2 table spoon olive oil
1 egg
1 ½ tea spoon salt
2 tea spoons sugar
3 ¼ cups of white baker’s flour
1 teaspoon instant dry yeast.
For finishing: 3 ½ ounces sesame seeds, 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water.

Method of preparation

Place all the ingredients in the bread pan in the order listed. Insert into the bread machine and close the lid.
Program: Dough
Press: Start
Turn completed dough onto a lightly floured surface. Divide in half and roll each half to an 8 by 8 inch square. With a large knife or pizza wheel cut the square into strips about ½ inch wide.
Spread some sesame seeds on the work surface. Glaze one strip of dough at a time with egg glaze. Place glazed side down onto the sesame seeds. Lightly glaze underside and sprinkle with seeds. Form into a ring, closing ends firmly (Note: To close the ring neatly, cut a diagonal slice off each end slanting in the same direction. When the circle is closed, the ends will connect perfectly) and place onto greased baking trays. Cover with a towel and allow to rise 20 to 25 minutes.
Preheat oven to 450°F and place a baking dish with hot water on the bottom shelf. Place the rings on the center shelf and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until they are golden and sound hollow when tapped.
Remove from oven and quickly brush or spray with water, leave on the baking tray to cool. This makes the crust crispy.
