DAL VADA
INGREDIENTS
250 grams of chana dal
1 big onion chopped
1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
1 tsp. full red chili powder
1 tbsp. coriander seed powder
1 tsp. whole cumin seeds
salt to taste
handful of chopped coriander leaves
few sticks of curry leaves
METHOD
Soak chana dal for 4 hours and grind it into a very coarse paste you can add
little water if required
Add chopped onions ginger
garlic paste red chili powder coriander seed powder whole cumin seeds salt
chopped coriander leaves chopped curry leaves
Take small portions of this
mixture and shape them into round and flat vadas
Make sure the oil is hot
enough while putting the vadas for deep frying otherwise they might break and
spread in the oil
Then lower the heat and cook
over low to medium flame until golden brown and crisp
Drain on a paper towel
serve with sweet tamarind chutney coconut chutney tomato sauce
