MUTTON KALIMIRCH RECIPE

MUTTON KALIMIRCH
INGREDIENTS
1/2 kg mutton
2 medium onions chopped
2 medium tomatoes chopped
2 potatoes (optional)
2 pods of garlic
2 inch ginger pieces
Handful of coriander leaves
1/2 cup yogurt or curd (dahi)
1 tbsp black pepper powder (kalimirch)
1 tbsp. full dhania powder (coriander seed powder)
1 tsp. full jeera powder (cumin seed powder)
1/2 tsp. full haldi powder (turmeric)
Salt to taste
GARAM MASALA
2 cloves (long) 2 cardamom (elaichi)1 inch cinnamon(dalchini) 8 black pepper (kalimiri)

METHOD
Grind ginger garlic and coriander leaves into fine paste
Marinate mutton pieces with the above ginger garlic coriander leaves paste yogurt salt turmeric coriander powder cumin powder and black pepper powders for 30 minutes
Heat oil in a vessel brown the chopped onions and whole garam masalas together
Add tomatoes and sautey over high heat till tomatoes are soft
Add marinated mutton pieces sautey 2 to 3 minutes over high heat then add water and boil
Cover and simmer till mutton is 90 percent done then add potatoes and cook further for 10 minutes or till potatoes are done
If using pressure cooker add water and pressure cook till mutton is 90 percent done then open add potato and give 1 whistle

Garnish with coriander mint leaves
