What is a female condom?

A female condom is a lubricated pouch made of a thin plastic. It has a thin, flexible ring at each end.

Like a male condom, the female condom prevents pregnancy by stopping sperm from reaching the egg. The closed end of the condom is put into the vagina and held in place by the inside ring. The open outside ring rests on the outside of the vagina.
